I grew up at a young age capturing film photographs and continued in my teenage years using a digital camera. Moving to NYC and studying photography at school there opened up a whole world of creating images of people right in the moment. Whether it was a friend, family, stranger, or scene without anyone in it at all then there was an opportunity for me to create. The best way for me to describe my approach to taking photographs is how I will remember something I pass by as a photograph in my head. If I don’t capture the image I’ll sometimes remember it better than something I did photograph. The images almost help me move on from them once I’ve distilled a piece of what I saw in time. In the past year in LA I’ve continued to use both street photography and setting up photographing someone in a fixed setting to create. Every so often I get to refocus, to wait and see what or who I’ll be inspired by next.
